We gathered that St. Bartholomew was the town's patron, but did not understand the "Festival of Fire" part of the celebration. My udnerstanding was that his miracles had to do with making heavy things (like an idol) seem light. It is a great tradition, regardless of whether there is a good reason for it.<br/><br/>I hope I did an OK job in relating the celebration. It was quite an experience. Thank you for writing this.
